Partnership highlights continued support of coaching associations to help build stronger communities through sport.
More than 5,000 collegiate, scholastic, and youth basketball coaches nationwide will gain access to expanded resources and support through a new multi-year partnership between Tarkett Sports, a global leader in sports construction and surfacing, and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
As part of the agreement, Tarkett Sports will serve as the exclusive Presenting Sponsor of the NABC First Chair Workshop in 2026 and 2027. The new NABC event will bring together first-year head coaches from across the country for leadership development, peer engagement, and professional networking. Through the partnership, Tarkett Sports will engage directly with decision-makers who influence facility investments at institutions of all sizes, from small colleges to major NCAA programs.
The partnership reflects Tarkett Sports’ long-standing commitment to strengthening communities through sport. Access to quality athletic facilities does more than support competition; it helps young athletes stay healthier, perform better in school, and grow into stronger, more engaged adults. By investing in high-performance sports surfacing and facility expertise, Tarkett Sports is helping coaches nationwide build environments where athletes and communities alike can thrive.
“Coaches do more than shape the game of basketball. They shape the young people who play it. The NABC represents those coaches, and Tarkett Sports is proud to support them as the presenting sponsor of the NABC First Chair seminar, backing up the work they do to make a difference every day, on and off the court. The NABC’s mission to develop coaches and strengthen the game reflects our own commitment at Tarkett Sports to building stronger athletic communities,” said Stéphane Leudet de la Vallée, Vice-President Indoor Products at Tarkett Sports.
“The NABC First Chair seminar was developed as an extension of the NABC’s longstanding commitment to investing in the development of coaches at early stages of their careers,” said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. “Tarkett Sports and the NABC are aligned in our belief that basketball is about much more than on-court results, and we look forward to working collaboratively in support of our member coaches.”
